This all-American aluminum lunch box was so heavily used that the handles gave out. Handles, hinges and locking latch were repaired with # 6- 32 threaded bolts. Repair person unknown.
Founded in 1903 in Kewaunee, Wisconsin, Leyse Aluminum Company was a part of the booming Wisconsin aluminum industry (1893–1920), often recognized alongside major manufacturers like Mirro and West Bend. The company produced commercial-grade aluminum cookware before being acquired by General Housewares Corporation.
